Hope Capital celebrates two Elite Women Awards

Hope Capital is delighted to announce that its Chief Financial Officer and Head of Marketing and Communications have been selected as Elite Women by Mortgage Introducer.

Kate Cowan who holds the position of Chief Financial Officer and Sarah Butler who is the lender’s Head of Marketing and Communications, have both been recognised among several of the industry’s leading women in the financial sector.

In line with International Women’s Day, those included in Mortgage Introducer’s third annual report have distinguished themselves with their ability to reinvent their industries’ codes and traditions, and their ethical and engaged approach to diversity and inclusion.

The announcement is particularly significant for the lender’s CFO, who has received the award for the second year on the run, after being named an Elite Woman in 2023. Kate Cowan joined Hope Capital in 2019 and was promoted to CFO in 2023, where as well as overseeing all financial matters, she supports Hope Capital’s CEO, Jonathan Sealey, with the strategic development of the business and its ambitious growth plans.

Kate Cowan, Chief Financial Officer at Hope Capital, said: “Looking around the industry, there are some amazing women who have fought hard to be where they are, and I’m delighted to be recognised alongside them. The Elite Women programme is a fantastic scheme to help change the narrative, and I couldn’t be prouder to be a part of it.”

In addition, Sarah Butler, who joined Hope Capital in 2022 has also been recognised as an Elite Woman. Since joining the business, Sarah has focused on identifying new opportunities to push the boundaries, which is why as well as focusing on raising awareness of the business and its offering, ensuring staff are happy and motivated is just as, if not more important to prioritise to Sarah.

Sarah Butler, Head of Marketing and Communications at Hope Capital, commented: “I’m delighted to have been selected as an Elite Women. I don’t want to just redefine success; I want to pave the way forward in creating a fair industry and shaping a future that matters.”

Hope Capital has been dedicated to gender equality and championing women in the workplace since it was established back in 2011. The lender is extremely proud to have 78% of its senior management team comprising women and 54% of its total workforce represented by females.

“What a fantastic achievement for both Kate and Sarah. I know first-hand how hard they work not just in their individual roles, but also their commitment to creating fair and equal opportunities for all. However, to have this industry recognition is terrific and I’d like to say a huge congratulations to all the other women who have been selected as Elite Women this year.”
